Total Joint Replacement

The start of joint pain can be a mild ache or discomfort and patients often tolerate this with over the counter pain reducers or anti-inflammatory medications. Although, as you continue to age, your joint pain may increase and many will seek more aggressive non-surgical treatments, such as injections (which we can do on-site) or physical therapy, to ease the pain. However, when less invasive treatments are unsuccessful and your joint pain becomes severe and interferes with your daily life, joint replacement surgery is recommended.

Total joint replacement is a surgical procedure in which parts of an arthritic or damaged joint are removed and replaced with a metal, plastic or ceramic device called a prosthesis. The prosthesis is designed to replicate the movement of a normal, healthy joint.
